The Conservation Photo Contest is a new program launching in 2019. This contest is open to any photos taken in Portage County . Contestants do not need to live within the county. The age divisions are youth (18 and younger) and adults (19 and older - as of December 1 2019). Contestants are allowed to enter as many as five photos each year that each fit into one of the following four categories: Conservation Practices, Close-up Conservation, Conservation in Action, or Agricultural Conservation. One winner and 5 honorable mentions will be selected from each age division. One first-place winner from each age division will be recognized and receive a $25.00 gift certificate. All twelve winners and honorable mentions will be showcased on our website gallery and sent on to NACD for a chance to win a cash prize. The semi-finalists will be determined anonymously in-house by NRCS & SWCD staff and the Board of Supervisors. The finalists will be voted upon by the public at the Randolph Fair.
